On January 4th, 2019, 18 excited students set forth on an incredible journey to volunteer with Global Brigades in Darien, Panama. GSU student Elizabeth Koontz was one of these lucky students. During her stay in Panama, she participated in seven days of challenging yet fun activities with her group members and other Panamanian volunteers. Elizabeth and the volunteers took part in legal clinics, empowerment charlas for women, cultural exchanges, and educational talks about the indigenous Wounaan community.
